are most of today's multifunction meters not going to be able to carry out all the testing procedures in 17th edition.
just looking at a catalogue and it says this meter covers the new tests needed next year.,

i think it said loop test p+n (as well as p+e) and rcd contact voltage, which it said others do'nt.

Many current testers already do this. I have a Metrel EasiTest here and does P-N loop also all RCD test give touch voltage result as part of the test.

My old Robin fails on all counts, mind you!

I'd imagine there'll be a some sort of a 17th edition course to bridge it to the C&G 2381 or the 2391.

Can't remember seeing the P-N loop test in the 17th edition DPC but have only had a quick glance though as of yet. I'd imagine almost all loop testers can do P-N as well as P-E depending on how they are set and where the probes are connected.

Don't know about the RCD touch voltage, as it stands at the moment an efli test should be done before doing an RCD test anyway, if the loop impedance is too high then an RCD test should not be done. Can't remember seeing this in the DPC either tbh.
I'm going to need a new GN3 next year lol.

For this you can use your existing tester, just stick both the earth and neutral probes on the neural and run a loop test.
