Hello

Can anyone help

I removed a heavy duty non working security light from the front of the house, this seemed to have a built in cover for the grey electrical flex that comes from inside the house, the unit I replaced it for is not as heavy duty and the grey cable wired directly into the back of the unit.

It all woks but my concern now is that is this safe re the rain etc, I have since watched you tube etc and people use weather proof junction boxes , however is this light fitted with a weather proof junction box that I have wired directly into ?

My other concern is will this cable stand up to UV effects ?

I would very much appreciate some guidance here as to what I need to do ?

I have included some pictures

Many thanks in advance

James

Should have a cable drip loop and use exterior rated cable. Wait for electricians to give more specific advice as not my area.
