If wanting to put a socket in an outbuilding which is attached to a house, is it feasible to supply the socket from flex which is runfrom a socket in the house and the flex come outside and clipped along brickwork before entering outbuilding to reach socket?

i wouldn't use ordinary flex for long term outdoor work.

2.5mm hituff or 4mm split con are good choices for running along an outside wall.

untill the wall falls down. (mine really did, and it had no cable)

flex is not meant for fixed things, i.e sockets

BS 7671 can allow the use of flexible cables for fixed wiring, no problem!
