Hi All,

Can anyone recommend a unit that can provide a really bright line guide for use out doors but also can be used at floor level to get an idea of the fall on a floor?

Smoke.

Laser lines don't work like they look like they do on the illustrations.

You'll only see a laser, no matter how powerful, when it reflects off something. Just as you don't see light from a normal light "mid-air" you only see it at the source and whatever it reflects off. So if you want to see it "mid-air" you have to give it something to reflect off, be that a brick, a piece of wood or smoke.

Clubs filled with lasers but no smoke don't look very good at all

Nozzle

What Nozzle says; I bought a cheapo laser level off ebay, which worked fine for my requirements once I knocked up a couple of T-angles made of wood, sprayed with matt black (chalkboard) paint.

Works great, even in Scottish Sunlight(*)

(*like normal sunlight, but only 66% as bright)
