PIR sensor spotlights

at the moment i have one of these with a cable that runs inside the house
and plugs into a normal household socket lol aka a cockup job lol

now a need a second one i think it may be time to do the job correctly

how would this be done ?

would the power supply need to come direct from the fuse box or could i
chase a wire to the back of a indoor socket ?

what wire is the safest to use for outside use ?

You could take the power from a 6A MCB in your consumer unit, or add a fused spur (with 5A fuse) from a ring supplying socket outlets.

As for outside cable, this will depend on location and method of installation. SWA or MICC are good but you need special tools for MICC and you won't be able to terminate SWA at a PIR sensor.

Unprotected T&E is not suitable for use outside, it offers little mechanical protection, it can be damaged by sunlight, and eaten by rodents. If you use it, install it in conduit.
