Outdoor lights

I have want to install some ourdoor lights to light the stairs to my flat. What kind of cable shoult I use? Do I need SWA or will rubber flex be OK as the cable will be running along a wall?

Unless you need the extreme mechanical protection, wouldn't hi-tuf or arctic be OK?

Absolutely fine. You only need armoured sheathed cable where it is concealed, e.g. buried.
