Outside Christmas Lights

Hello,

Just after some advice from someone who understands power wattage volts amps. Ect

I have a new set of 3000 cluster lights but they are very dull, ( all the same brand) I notice they are running the same transformer as my other which are 1500 cluster half the amount

Can I get a better transformer to help with the dimness all attached pictures

Pictures are of the label off the 3000 lights
And the transformers supplied for both 1500 and 3000 lights

Can I get a higher wattage or amp

That looks like the right one

The 3000 set is rated for 36 volts, and that is what that power supply provides.
Whether they are 'dull' or not is unrelated, that's how they are designed.

Right okay , so would suggest they are faulty they are normally good quality. And with a quick Google some problems say the wattage may not been enough especially the longer the light. But you would say that's not the case?

Do the specs for the light strings (1500 & 3000) say anything about wattage?

Seek manufacturers advice they “should” be the ones who know their own product and know their limitations and design intent.

The only mention of wattage is on the label in the picture, and it says 12W and that's the same on 3000 and 1500

I have asked the manufacturers but I dont think the should is the case

It could depend upon what the 3000 and 1500 numbers actually refer to ???

Oh refers to the amount of lights one set of 3000 cluster lights and 1500 but both supplied with a transformer below both brand new but the 3000 light set is considerably dim

I can t get a straight answer out of the manufacture but feel like surely the 3000 set of lights would need a bigger wattage lik le transformer

you have 2 sets of lights:

one is 3000 lights and a total of 12W of power or 0.004W per light

t'other is 1500 lights and a total of 12W of power or 0.008W per light

Do you expect a 0.004W light to be as bright as a 0.008W light?

The 3000 will be, roughly, half the brightness of the 1500 when both sets consume the same quantity of electrickery.

Take/send the 3000 set back and replace with 2 sets of 1500.

This is the reason I limit my lights to strings of 1000 maximum

Not when its explain like that then but when buying then I was thought thst would be 8w light with a higher overall W
