I have a switch in the garage and a switch in the house which both control two outside lights. I would like to replace one of the two lights. Currently that light has 1 cable in and 1 cable out. Both cables have a red, a black, and bare wire. the new light has a blue & brown. Do I just connect red, red, brown and black, black, blue. I assume the switch cable runs to the other light.

I assume you mean that the new light has brown and blue cable in its fittings and that the new light is compliant with requirements for outdoor use.
If the current cable is red and black then red/red goes to brown and black/black goes to blue.
You should not have a bare wire!!!! This is the cpc (earth wire) and needs to be covered with green/yellow sleeving.
