Hi, I've just removed my old light fitting (12 watt piazza) & am about to put up a standard 60 watt screw-in type fitting. Can I just wire it up the same way the old one came off? One thing I have noticed, is that there is no switch to turn it on & off with. It runs straight from the PIR.

Is the light controlled by a stand alone PIR? Providing you are happy with the same switching arrangement as you had with the old fitting, then a straight swap will be fine. With the new fitting having a screw-in lamp, you need to make sure you connect the live wire to the center contact of the lampholder, and the neutral to the 'thread' contact. If an earth is required connect this to the earth terminal.
