Outside lights

Hi,

We had two security lights installed outside with dawn to dusk bulbs.
They worked for a week but now they keep going on and off.

Any ideas what it could be? Could the sensor be dodgy?

define "going on and off".?

do you have any trees nearby?
a cat that frequents you grounds?
do the light overlook the neighbours house where the boiler exhaust comes out?
near any drainpipes from the bathroom ( mom's comes on whenever someone showers / washes hands as the hot water runs into a "hopper" and sends a plume of hot air / steam into the path of the sensor.. )

Hi,

We had two security lights installed outside with dawn to dusk bulbs.

If I look logically at this, and seperate the parts of the sentence as follows:

"security light" = a PIR controlled light.
"dusk to dawn bulbs" = a light bulb that turns itself on at dusk and off at dawn via its own internal circuitry.

Is this really the case? You realise this would never work, dont you?

you do know that you can get lights that are on dimly untill someone activates them?
