An outside socket is needed so will have appropriate waterproof one. The installation appears easy as on the inside of the wall there is a socket. Just drill through the back of the existing socket through the wall and have the outside socket on the outside wall. Back to back. The socket will be a spur off the ring. The ring is RCD protected. As the socket will a suitable outside socket I assume it will not need a fused spur. Any comments would be appreciated.

If all is as stated, that's it. Fuse will be in the plug.

Drill slightly downwards toward the outside so water does not run in.
Drill large enough to fit a piece of conduit to protect the cable.

Get one of these or a switched version

If you can fit a dual pole isolation switch inside it would be beneficial, as if water somehow does get inside the outdoor socket, you want to be able to easily isolate it and continue using the inside sockets!

Don't buy the LAP model from screwfix, mine failed very quickly, every time you open it the cover falls off and the catch has snapped.
