if i wanted to add a socket to my ring main just a spur and the neatest way is to drill out side across the outside wall and back in again about 20inch are so is it ok to put the cable in metal capping are is there any regs about going outside

Despite popular belief, it is fine to clip cables outside if they are unlikely to be damaged.
However, I would much prefer to run it in 20mm round white PVC conduit, and use two circular terminal boxes and lid.
Make sure you drill your holes at and angle down from in to out.

its fine to clip a 2.5mm flat gray cable outside? is there no regs for it being protected?
