With any luck lash-ups of a nature which will give rise to incidents in which nobody is hurt, no significant property damage occurs, but the occupants get such a scare that next year they don't put the awful things up.
No such thing at ours all 3 strings are tied up to adhesive cable tie hooks and wired through to 2x double sockets in garage off the downstairs soffit lighting timer/photocell.
