Oven nstallation

Help - anyone....
I am installing an oven in an island unit. The work surface above is like Corian. Do I need to protect the worksurface from the heat?

I think more info would help you get an answer, like; wtf is corian, what type of oven, make & model, is it an integrated appliance

Hi jj4091,

Corian is an epoxy moulded work surface. The effect is like granite (ish) but at the end of the day it is plastic, so i thought it may be affected by the heat,.

The oven is a SMEG fan assisted single oven to be installed under the work surface.

Sorry for the lack of detail before - I thought it might be a common question!!
