oven plastic back box

Hello all - My first question ,

I have just bought a house and went to put my cooker in. The cooker connector is mounted on a plastic surface mounted back box - is this OK or should it really be a metal box installed in the wall?

the surface box is quite acceptable if properly done. post some photos if you are not sure.
