Hi, can any one help! Buying a new oven (electric to replace gas) and at the moment I have a 'cooker switch' available, however, this switch has been wired up to feed power to my garage. My question is, can the oven and the garage be hooked up at the same point?

many thanks in advance

Cooker and Garage should NOT be on the same circuit.

To advise you on what cable/ fuse rating you need we will require more information. What rating is the oven, are you fitting a gas hob or is that electric too. is the oven fixed or free standing?

Thanks for the reply. Please bare with me as I have not bought oven yet as I am looking at my options. I will have a look at the oven I am thinking of buying tonight and post rating.

The hob (gas) and oven will be built in and the cooker switch is 30amp at the mains.

Thanks for now

Is it a single oven? If it is most of them have a power rating just under 3kW so you can run them on a 13A socket. Check the rating of the oven. If it's less then 3kW it probably comes with a plug, or you can fit one.
