I have a set of French double doors that open up at the rear of my property which are currently exposed to weather. I plan to install a modern door canopy as per the enclosed photo examples.

I am considering purchasing the canopy from a manufacturer called Palram who widely distribute the Bordeaux 2230 door canopy to many resellers in the UK.

Does anyone have experience working with Palram products, are they any good? Are there any other manufacturers that I should consider?

Much appreciated.

Hi there,
I recently put a double canopy over my back patio doors. I was really proud until this morning when half the bugger was on the floor when I got up. I knew one of the screw holes I'd drilled into the brick was a bit too big for the screw and plug (I was sick to death of it by this time) and now I'm trying to find out if I can fill the hole with something and reinsert the screw.
It's a....

and I got it from Facebook Marketplace (in an unopened box, everything included - idiot proof, right? Hmm...) The brackets are plastic and the plastic bit is flimsy. If I'd paid full whack I'd be disappointed I think but I got it for £20. I should've used the £30 I saved to contribute to "getting someone in".

Use brick mortar and allow to set for a day. Don't bother with resins or similar as it won't be strong enough. Plenty of premixed mortars are available in small tubs for convenience.

You must have a different brand or model. The above model uses solid steel in powder coat. It's incredibly strong and I could hang off my brackets with my full body weight

It is rarely the quality of the canopy, rather the quality of the fitting/fixing, that lets them down. Too few fixing in a concentrated area = shoite.

Anyone asked me to fix one of those canopies onto a rendered building, I'd tell them to kiss my rear.
