Overboarded ceiling - join to wall

I have overboarded a ceiling, and have made my first attempt at plasterboard jointing. It’s going OK so far.

I need to decide what to do at the top of the walls. Some of these are tiled, others are painted lining paper over plaster (and will be repainted eventually). What’s the conventional thing to do?

I could just fill the small gaps with jointing compound. Or with some other filler or caulk. Or - except for the tiled bits obviously - I could join using paper tape and jointing compound. Or something else?

What’s the conventional way to do this?

I always run some adhesive like easyfill or board adhesive along edges before I fitted board. This prevented any flex so stopping any cracks along edges.
I also used foam or polymer grab, or whatever I had to stick sometimes.
I also PVA or some sealer around the cut board edges before fitting so that the filler stuck well with no shrinking or cracking.

If board is up seal edges. Fill and run tape around on ceiling tight to walls. Corner taping is not easy to do
