I admit fully I have no idea what I am doing and so should be beheaded for messing around with the system at all... I am sure I caused the problem I have.

Last year we were getting very little heat on our second floor. Radiators were bled, but still no heat. Our first floor is on the same pump and it was getting heat just fine.

So a few days ago I bled the radiators for the season again but also let some water out of the expansion tank hoping that doing so would help in some way. By doing it I was able to discover that my system has an automatic fill valve as it started letting water into the system after I removed too much from the expansion tank. Since draining that water from the expansion tank the pressure in the system now raises to 40 PSI when the burner is firing and the overflow pipe leaks until the burner stops burning. When the burner is not firing the pressure stays fairly constant at 25 PSI and there is no leaking. I am losing enough water from the valve each day to fill a half sized foil steamtable tray.

I have no manual for the system and only purchased the house last August so this is my second winter in the house. The model number on the system is VT-890-14625-0. The brand is E.F.M of Emmaus PA.

Please help.
