Hi all,

I have a hardwood frame conservatory that is coated with a hideous mahogany Sadolin varnish or similar.

I hate the colour and want to change it to white.

What is the best and most robust, long-lasting paint to use inside and out.

The outside is worn in places but the inside is pretty mint. Will a light sanding do before painting?

Any advice on products and application would be hugely appreciated.

Thank You as always, Matt.

You will need a good sanding first to break through the original stain. Might be best to use a coat of Zinsser BIN as a primer. You could use Dulux All seasons masonry paint, this is pliolite based and is an exterior coating anyway. I have used this before to good effect. You could use it inside aswell if you wanted. Has a nice sheen to it bit like satinwood.
