Paint over blue border

Hi,

I have a cream coloured room with a blue painted border running around the walls and I need to get rid of the blue border. Can somebody tell me the best way of doing it? do I just keep painting over it with the new cream colour untill it disapears or is there a better way of doing it.

No its not a paper border its painted onto the wall.

Putting a stain block on first would be the quickest way to cover, or if you have any oil based undercoat floating around then use that
