Hi, we removed a large fireplace and had our walls skimmed and tidied up.
We waited until they were dry.
Painted an undercoat of watered down paint as advised by a plasterer. I know there are other theories (ova glue etc, but we went with the plasterers advice)

Lots later (at least a month) we painted the wall lilac. Dried. Did second coat.
Then big dark patches appeared.

So, we tried thick stain paint and it worked, looked great. Sorted.

Oh no! Within a week the dark patched have returned. I am gutted and very stressed as our lounge is done with New carpets etc!! Any worked now is frightening me.

Please help me, what do we do?!

Now I know why the previous owners had wallpaper and a huge fireplace.
