At my mum's house on the balcony there is a wooden chest of drawers.. being exposed to the elements is it weathering. There is another balcony directly above the balcony so there is a "roof". It is a solid wood chest of drawers, what would be best thing to use to protect and prolong the life of it, paint, varnish, oil and wax?

Does it get wet on windy rainy days?

If not Osmo sell an exterior oil that is fine for exterior use (vertical surfaces).

That said, it will take a lot sanding to remove the discoloured timber.

It may be easier to use paint, but if it gets wet from time to time, the paint will fail.
