I think I’ve messed up and painted my new corner summer house without treating it first. It’s quite small (7ft * 7ft) as my garden isn’t that big and I need to put it right in the corner of the garden up against the fence. I painted the panels before assembly with Bedec Barn paint, and now realise I probably should have treated them first. My question is, do you think this is going to cause me big problems? And is there anything I can do about it now? I was wondering if treating the wood by paining from the inside was possible, or if that would have a negative effect on the external paint. Any advice much appreciated.

Your coating will help to repel the rain. It is better than nothing.

I am a decorator. I my experience wood preservatives only really help if the timber is in direct contact with the (wet) ground.
