hi, i have a new hemlock six panel front door to paint. i was going to use johnstones flexible primer undercoat and flexible gloss. having done a bit of googling i was going to caulk the panels with urethane/elastomeric caulk but i cant find any. can anyone recommend what i should use?

Can`t help you with the caulk - but I would not caulk at all ! . On the premise that the wood will shrink/move and then you`ll have to remove the caulk when you paint again , and re caulk then .. Just my way of doing things ;)

if i dont use caulk will the paint not crack around the panels. i thought the caulk gave the joints some elasticity.
