Can any one help i have a brown staircase and dado rail etc going from hall way to upstairs I want to paint it all white had quotes for £110 per day would rather try myself but dont no where to start
any help please

I recently did the same thing in my house. I just gave the wood an undercoat first and then two coats of gloss. Came up very nicely and still looks good 6 months later.

- clearly the answer is "Friday".

You say 'a brown staircase'........do you mean painted brown or previously stained or varnished?

The reason being if it is stained or varnished then you will need to adopt a different approach and paint system.
