painting bare wood in a bathroom

Hello all

What is the best way to seal a beautifully made, tongue and groove bath panel? It will be white when finished but I want to make sure that the wood is really well protected gainst any water damage.

I would be grateful for any tips!

Ideally the timber should have been treated prior to it being made into a bath panel. All raw edges need a coat of oil based primer to stop water ingression.
