Painting Boxed In Pipes

Just had bathroom pipes boxed in with plywood. I am just going to paint it white and was wondering is there anything special I need to do? Can I just paint it directly with this?

Can't see there will be a problem you might want to give the ply a coat of water based wood primer first though
