I am in the process of painting my internal doors, what undercoat should I use to cover CROWN SOLO (one coat) paint?
I have used B&Q COLOURS undrercoat but it takes 4 coats to cover the previous paintwork.

What paint are you top coating with and is it going to be a different colour to the solo?

The origional paint is Sorrento a light green, the new paint is Crown White gloss

A good undercoat is key to achieving a good finish on painted woodwork like this. A tin of Crown brilliant white or white undercoat will do the job, however to cover darker colours an undercoat with high opacity i.e high colour density, will hopefully negate the need to apply more than one coat of "Once"! I always use Johnstones brilliant white oil based undercoat prior to oil based gloss. Lightly sand the undercoat once dry with 120 grade paper.
