Painting lead flashing

Hi Guys
I'm looking for some advise on painting on lead,
I have a bay window to paint and it has lead flashing on the roof and hanging over the front.
The lead has previously been painted black but is badly flaking.
Is there a special paint for this purpose or is it all down to preparation to prevent further flaking

I think there is a paint specifically for lead available in B and Q etc..but I normally just gloss it dues to the flexibility in lead.

Obviously youl have to scrape off the lose stuff first.
