hi

just recently built a build in wardrobe using mdf ( don't tell any joiners), now realize that i should not have used it. It's done now and up, but wanting to protect it against damage.

Can i varnish it, would like to keep away from paint if poss. If i can varnish it do i need to rub it down first?

thanks

There is nothing wrong with varnish on MDF...only thing is it will look terrible. MDF is not meant to be seen as a finished piece of wood. It should be primed and painted to be honest. As it doesnt have any grain to look at, it will not look good.
