Hi,

I have had the gable end wall of my house rendered recently and am looking at the best way to paint it. In addition, I want to paint the existing render on the front and back of the house that has been there for years.

My question is what would be the best paint to use which is suitable for the new render and existing render. The new render has a good finish and I intend to give it a brush down beforehand. I have read about Johnstones Stormshield Pliolite which is supposed to be good but others recommend the trade versions.

Any advice welcome on paint manufacturers and whether water based paints are more suitable?

Many thanks
