Painting onto plasterboard.

hello all,

just a quick question about something im not sure about.

going to be painting a room that has been lined with (pink?!) plasterboard and the joins have just been filled, i.e its not been plastered.

do i need to water down the first coat as normal with new plaster, or can i just paint straight on.

its std trade emulsion.
