We are going to tidy up and repaint our original wooden door canopy on our 1930's semi, its a small wooden canopy with what looks like lead flashing on the top, and onto the house wall. The lead is very discoloured by the look of it, can it be treated and/or painted?

Or is painting lead a no-no? What would we use to freshen it up please?

If its already been painted, Bedec Multi surface paint is a good option. Lead is one of those surfaces that doesn't like being painted with conventional paints, it soon flakes off. Ive used hammerite before to good effect aslo.
