I have brown wooden doors in my Bungalow, I think they are hollow with a wood veneer.

I would like to paint them all white.
What is the correct procedure?

I guess I need to lightly sand the surface to get a key.
Can I use white emulsion as the undercoat and then white gloss for the top coat?

You need to give them a good sand down. No you cant use emulsion first. You need something that will grip the surface better, like Zinsser Gardz. This will seal the door and give a decent surface to undercoat and gloss onto.
It will just chip and peel off if you don't.

You need to sand them with an electric sander then use a couple of coats of oil undercoat applied with a roller. The gloss or satin.
