What is the most effective method to neutralise the alkaline once wood has been stripped/dipped?

I've been told Vinegar (Apple Cider or Malt) or Sugarsoap.

I'm going to be painting a chair that has been sent to be stripped as well as one I've stripped using Screwfix's own brand paint & varnish remover.

Thank you for looking,
Bern

Acetic acid (vinegar) should be fine, however most firms neutralise the wood post stripping.

I have never used the Screwfix brand, it looks like it is made by Bartoline (possible TX10). They might be able to give you a definitive answer.
