I am confused by conflicting statements from kitchen makeover companies some of whom say my cabinets can be painted to avoid having to get new ones and some who say painting shrink wrapped cupboard doors wont succeed and they need to be stripped at a cost which defeats the object of painting. Mine cabinet doors cracked in 2-3 places and a bit rippled along the edges just inside the doors but otherwise quite good for their age-possibly a good quality kitchen some 20 years ago. Has anyone on this forum had success painting such cupboards and how did you do it? Mine are dark blue and appears to be thick PVC semi flexible over caberboard type doors.
