Painting skirting without getting it on the carpet?

Tips..
1)...get someone who knows what they are doing of in...
2) Lift the carpet..if you cant get it all up then just fold it back around the edges.
3) Or the best option..stick 2 inch masking tape around the edgestuck it in as tight as possible..that will..keep the paint off the carpet....help stop annoying fibres getting onto the brush and then on to the skirting..oh and ed up in the paint itself..and you'l finish the job quicker too..
