I've just bought a second hand van vault off eBay. It's a bit battered but at only twenty six pounds I'm very happy :D

Anyway, I want to spruce it up a little with minimal effort so what's the best thing to paint it with? Ideally something that comes in black!
It won't be exposed to the elements once it's been painted.

Cheers, Tim. :D

I class my vault as a tool but feel free to move this to painting if you see fit

I was thinking Hamerite, just wondered what other people think, cheers for the speedy reply!

It's steel, I'd whiiz over it with a wire brush in an electric drill, and give it coat of anti-rust primer, then ordinary gloss. If it already has rust patches, treat with Krust before priming.

Rust spreads under Hammerite, and it is difficult to recoat. It is also fairly expensive.
