Windows outside are in a bad way with the bare wood showing in places. Finding it difficult to get a painter and have decided to have a go at it myself. A friend recommended Butinox as a good coverall. Is he right or is there something else available that would do the job?

No replies to my Q so can I rephrase it. If I rub down and remove the flaking paint and/or varnish on my windows and apply a couple of coats of Butinox, will it do the job?

Some windows are painted, some are varnished and most have a little peeling to the bare wood mainly on the sills. Will butinox adhere to all 3?
