Painting wood soffitts

Hello

Can I use Rust-Oleum spray cans to paint my wooden soffitts? or does it need to be solid paint?
I use this spray

This is paint version but its in gloss not satin?

That would be an awfully expensive way to do it and spraying involves masking the bits you don't want to paint, plus difficult in the slightest breeze outdoors. A brush and paint pot is the way forward. Others will recommend the best paint to use.

Thanks makes sense just need the espresso brown colour, would the gloss be too shiny?

I tend to stick to dulux trade weathershield (oilbased). If nothing else, it is consistent.

I would never use the DIY version of Dulux though (ie the stuff sold at DIY sheds that doesn't call itself Dulux Trade).
