Why don't these come with a rubber sealing washer. If wanting to fit a valve when installing a cold water storage cistern.

The water level should not be getting that high, due to having an overflow pipe.

I've been to one were someone has drilled the overflow above the float valve. So no air gap.

That contravenes water regs - can you drill a new one and block the old one .
