Hi
I am trying to figure out if Part E (E1) applies to extensions.
Me and my neighbour are constructing a joint extension to an existing 100year old property, building the partywall to a "robust detail" seems totally pointless when the existing house wall offers no real restriction to sound passage.
Ideally we would like to build it in the same manner as the rest of the new building, that is, 100mm fibolite outer skin, 100mm full fill cavity and 100mm fibrolite inner skin, rendered on the outside wet skim on the inside, obviously the separating wall would be skim both sides.
I can't see any real issue with this given it is not anew build or the like.
Thoughts?
