Part P Electrician, hourly rate

Hi all,

I am lucky enough to have a friend who has offered to fit out my extension and sign off.
He won't let me pay for his labour, but I want to compensate him somehow.
Can anyone tell me the average hourly rate that would normally be charged for this kind of work?

Not 100% sure about your area, but self employed spark £20-£25/hour through the books.Cash in hand "foreigner" £10-£12/hour up here.If your friend has said he will do it free he may be offended if you try to pay him, could you not treat him to a night out or something?
