I work as an industrial electrician for an engineering company, and our large workshop has an office attached on the side. As I only do industrial work, I am not Part P qualified. But my boss has asked me if I could put all new lighting up in the office, and I just wanted to check if I am legally allowed to do this? Am I correct in thinking that I can because this would either be industrial or commercial work, and as such not come under Part P?

Part P applies to dwellings and certain commercial premises sharing supplies with dwellings. If this is an entirely business premises then you have nothing to worry about.
