Turn the water off and then after flushing, mop out the remaining water. Remove the filling valve and overhaul or replace it with one of a more reliable make. Now that said, the fill valve will have a means of adjusting the shut-off level somewhere that might not be obvious.
My old eyes can't even see what brand it is, but more photos from different angles might help

Righty ho. I've cranked my screen right up and identified it as a Flomasta. I've even found a very clear adjustment instruction on-line for you.
