Toilet cistern stuck

My toilet has a knackered fill valve. The toilet is one of those where you have to remove the cistern to access the nut holding the fill valve in place. I've emptied the cistern and removed the two bolts holding the cistern to the bowl, but it won't budge despite lots of shaking from side to side with my weedy arms. There are no bolts holding it to the wall and no other visible bolts holding it to the bowl.

Any ideas? I thought it might be stuck with limescale, or just wedged against the wall behind it. I'm tempted to attack it with a rubber mallet, but that probably ends up with a shattered cistern! Thanks.
