I'm currently installing 75mm of rigid insulation onto a single skin brick wall. That will then have a void of 2cm or so for media cables, followed by plasterboard.

When finished, this wall will hold a solid wood desk that is 2.5m long, supported at one side by a leg, and the other side being fixed to a 90degree
wall.

For the fixing itself, I obviously can't fix into the insulation, but not sure how to hold this in place. Using 160mm screws won't work because they'll bend over the 100mm span of insulation and void.

Kinda stumped on this one. My only option is to put some metal rods through the insulation into the brickwork, however this will break the thermal barrier.

Any suggestions?

Add 11mm osb behind plasterboard then you can fix easily with wood screws.
