Paslode IM350 Loading nails issue

My brother has just bought an old IM350 from ebay, there's a problem with loading the nails, you have to fiddle about with the butting to allow the nails into the magazine, just just annoying.
Anyone else had this problem?

I find they are annoying because unlike many alternative designs the nail pusher doesn't lock out of the way for nail loading. Unless I'm mistaken you have to withdraw it to the outer end of the magazine and hold it there whilst you load the gun, or have I mis-remembered? I generally don't use the Paslodes at work, having Hikoki and Senco/Rawl guns of my own

yeah, loader follower knob is pulled back into the seated position for reload, but it's a struggle to get the nails in, you then have to play about the the follower knob to get the nails loaded

Only load one clip. They have only got a capacity of about 1-1/2 clips

My IM350 loads fine, check the slide for obstructions, long shot but check the nails are compatible, pretty sure most nails would work though
