patch drying time

Hi folks,
y'day I patched a small area of render on an exterior wall using ScrewFix ready mix mortar. The area is small - about a square foot. I intend to screw 2 wooden batons onto an area that includes the patch - how long should I wait for the patch to dry before drilling the holes into it for the wood batons?
